New Glass Fire lighting in Albion River Inn

Posted: 01/29/2014

Albion River Inn is pleased to present new lighting fixtures in our dining room, provided by local Mendocino Coast business, Glass Fire.

Owners, Buster and Trish Dyer and family built Glass Fire Gallery located on Highway One in Fort Bragg, California in 2005.  Born and raised fourth generation in Mendocino County, Buster opened the gallery with a glass blowing studio on-site where he creates work as a reflection of family history and his love of the coastal area.

Artist, Jack Schmidt introduced glass blowing to Buster while attending Chico State in 1980. Inspired by the love of glass, he built his own studio, became self-taught exhibiting in one-man shows at various galleries before opening Glass Fire. He has attended Pilchuck Glass School in the state of Washington and has been a guest instructor at Cal Poly State University.

Currently Buster specializes in creating blown glass lighting for residential and commercial installations. Recently the Cabezon restaurant decorated with Glass Fire’s lighting earned number two ranking of Google’s top 10 restaurants in Portland Oregon and now in the award-winning restaurant on the Mendocino Coast, Albion River Inn.

Glass Fire’s lighting is commissioned for private and commercial installations throughout the country and internationally. Buster prides himself on every detail of lighting from the blowing of the glass to fabrication of the final design.
